Beach Family Session in Newport, RI

A beach session with adult kids moves at a different pace—in the best way. This family shoot was really about slowing down, staying present, and making space for the kind of connection that doesn’t need much posing. With soft coastal light, a muted sky, and gentle waves, the evening felt calm and easy, which always leads to natural, relaxed portraits.

What I loved most were the in‑between moments: conversation, shared smiles, and the way they naturally leaned into one another as they walked along the shore. Sessions like this are why I’m so drawn to family photography—especially with grown children—because I get to document who you are right now: real history, genuine connection, and the kind of closeness that’s been built over years together.
